Tom Josefy

Sr. Software Product Marketing Manager at NComputing

Tom Josefy has a comprehensive work experience spanning several decades. Tom began their career in 1978 at Amoco Production Company, where they worked as an Exploration Systems Analyst. Tom'sresponsibilities included migrating batch seismic processing systems and supervising the development of new seismic algorithms. Tom also played a key role in the documentation group, ensuring the accuracy of Amoco's proprietary seismic processing programs. Additionally, Tom introduced the concept of hardware "pipes" to improve the efficiency of seismic jobs running on different systems.

In 1985, Tom joined Saudi Aramco as a Geophysical Specialist. Here, they led a project to port the CogniSeis DISCO seismic processing system to a more standard environment, enabling its use by the entire exploration community. Tom also created a translator that allowed the conversion of proprietary seismic modules to run on the new platform.

From 1988 to 1994, Tom returned to Amoco Production Company as a Senior Geophysicist. In this role, they were responsible for the company's high-performance computing strategy. Tom eliminated the need to purchase a supercomputer by designing and installing Amoco's first compute cluster. This led to lower computing costs and improved negotiations with service bureau providers.

In 2004, Tom joined ClearCube Technology as the Director of Product Management. Tom held this position until 2007, overseeing product development and management.

Finally, in 2008, Tom joined NComputing as a Senior Software Product Marketing Manager, where they currently work.

Tom Josefy attended Oklahoma State University from 1967 to 1972, though no degree or field of study was specified.
