Matthew Rust has a long and varied work experience. From 2021 to 2009, they have held various positions in the IT and telecommunications fields. In 2021, they became the Engineering & Support Manager/Principal Engineer at RTC Communications-Rochester, where they lead the CO/Support and CO/Engineering teams. In 2020, they were a Senior Network Engineer at Intelligent Fiber Network (IFN). In 2019, they were a Senior Network Engineer at Enhanced Telecommunications Corporation, responsible for the design, operation, and delivery of telco services. In 2018, they were a Network Security Engineer at Hillenbrand, responsible for WAN/LAN operations/projects across over 120 locations globally. In 2017, they were the Infrastructure Team Lead at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, LLC, managing a team of network engineers and technicians. In 2015, they were a Computer Support Technician at the School of Science at IUPUI, performing system builds, installs, refreshes, and repairs. In 2011, they were the Programs Instructor/Coach & Webmaster/IT Technician at the Decatur County Family YMCA, maintaining the corporation website, managing PCs, Windows servers, and security systems, and instructing youth sports programs. In 2009, they were a Technology Assistant at Greensburg Community Schools.
Matthew Rust obtained their Core 40 Diploma with Technical and Academic Honors from Greensburg Community High School in 2014. Matthew then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Technology from Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI, which they completed in 2017. In 2019, they obtained a Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) certification from Cisco, as well as a MEF-CECP certification from MEF Forum. Most recently, in 2020, they received a Metaswitch Translations Training certification from Metaswitch Networks.
