Gemma Parkes is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in environmental and humanitarian sectors. Currently serving as the Head of Communications for the Nature Positive Initiative, Gemma drives efforts to implement the Nature Positive Global Goal for Nature and the Global Biodiversity Framework. As a Member of Leading Women for the Ocean, Gemma advocates for women's voices in critical ocean and climate negotiations. Prior roles include Communications Lead for the World Economic Forum's Centre for Nature and Climate and the Ocean Action Agenda, as well as Founder and Director of gemissima pr & communications. Gemma has held leadership positions at Oxfam and WWF International, managing strategic communications and high-profile campaigns. With a strong academic background in international politics and languages, Gemma also contributed to education as a visiting lecturer in communications at the University of Business and International Studies.
