Laura (Cales) Matalka is an experienced professional in the arts and cultural sector with a focus on Native communities. Since December 2016, Laura has served as Associate Director of Programs at the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation, where responsibilities include coordinating grantmaking programs and special projects. Laura has also held roles including Program Manager and Program Coordinator within the same organization, dedicated to advancing equity and cultural knowledge for American Indian, Native Hawaiian, and Alaska Native peoples. Prior to this, Laura was the Business Operations Coordinator at the Biennial of the Americas and held academic roles as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Art History from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Wright State University.
