Panos Datskos is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in research operations and leadership roles. Since January 2020, Panos has served as Chief of Staff and Senior Strategic Research Operations Director at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, also acting as Center Director. Additionally, from December 2019, Panos holds a joint faculty position at the Colorado School of Mines and has been a Senior Research Advisor at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory since September 2018. Prior experience includes serving as a Distinguished Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from January 2012 to June 2018 and as a Professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville from January 2010 to June 2018. Panos Datskos earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Physics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where studies were completed from 1983 to 1988.
