Brett Webster has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Brett began their career in 2006 with NOLS, where they served as a Senior Faculty, designing curriculum and teaching custom leadership courses for clients such as the US Navy and Google. In 2010, they joined NOLS Wilderness Medicine as a Lead Instructor. Brett also worked as a Contractor/Carpenter for their self-owned business from 2006 to 2015, undertaking remodel and new construction projects. Brett further expanded their skills by working as a Shop and Field Carpenter/General Contractor for Bomo Design USA in 2012. Brett also has experience in the energy sector, having served as a Project Manager II at Energy Solutions from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, they worked as a Consultant for Alameda County in 2017, supporting the Office of Sustainability in developing a revolving loan fund for climate action projects. Brett's educational background includes being a Graduate Student Instructor and Construction Manager/Graduate Student Researcher at the Energy and Resources Group of the University of California, Berkeley, where they played a key role in designing and constructing a solar-powered tiny house. Brett also served as the Director of Wilderness Orientation at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 2008 to 2012. In their most recent role, Brett worked as a Manager at RMI, starting in February 2021, and previously held the position of Senior Associate from 2019 to January 2021.
Brett Webster has a Bachelor of Science with honors and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they studied Environmental Studies and Philosophy from 2001 to 2006. Brett later pursued a Master's degree in Energy Systems and Policy, as well as a Certificate in Engineering and Business for Sustainability, at the University of California, Berkeley from 2015 to 2017. In addition, they hold additional certifications in HVAC Design, Wilderness First Responder, CPR for Professional Rescuers and Healthcare Providers, and Professional Avalanche, Level 1.
