Kai Rannenberg is a Full Professor at Goethe University since July 2002 and has served as a Visiting Professor at the National Institute of Informatics since April 2012. Prior experience includes roles as a Post Doc Researcher and Researcher at Microsoft Research from September 1999 to August 2002, and as a Researcher, PhD Student, and Assistant Professor at The University of Freiburg from April 1993 to June 2002. Starting as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Technische Universität Berlin from October 1989 to March 1993, Rannenberg also completed an internship with Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit in early 1990 and served as a Civilian Servant at Klinikum Wolfsburg from July 1985 to October 1986. Educational qualifications include a Doctorate in Business Informatics with a focus on ICT Security and Privacy from The University of Freiburg (1993-1998) and a Diplom (Master) in Informatics from Technische Universität Berlin (1983-1989).
