Kristen Nicole Powell serves as Co Executive Director and Co Founder at The Lost & Found Institute since April 2023 and holds positions on several prominent committees and organizations related to child welfare and social justice. Kristen is a member of NACC’s National Advisory Council on Children’s Legal Representation, where feedback is provided on projects and policies for those with lived experience in the child welfare system. Additionally, Kristen participates in steering committees for initiatives like IMPACT with the Justice + Joy National Collaborative, and leads legal and policy efforts with the Annie E. Casey Foundation's KS SOUL Implementation Team. Previous roles include Community Engagement Bureau Manager at The Wichita Beacon, Community Change Women's Fellow, and Take Action for Power Fellow with the Funders' Collaborative on Youth Organizing. Kristen's educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Wichita State University.
