Brandy Karl is an experienced legal professional specializing in copyright and intellectual property law. Currently serving as Assistant General Counsel at the U.S. Copyright Office since July 2022, Brandy has previously held the position of Copyright Officer at Penn State University from August 2014 to July 2022, and worked as a Fellow at the Federal Communications Commission from September 2011 to May 2014. Academic contributions include time as both a Nonresidential Fellow and Residential Fellow at the Center for Internet & Society at Stanford Law School from June 2007 to September 2012, as well as a Nonresidential Fellow at the Information + Innovation Policy Research Centre in Singapore.
