Helio Costa serves as Senior Medical Director at Natera, leading several innovative initiatives in cancer genomics and molecular pathology, including the development of commercial somatic genome profiling and real-world evidence data services. At Stanford University School of Medicine, Helio holds multiple roles including Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Pathology, Founding Director of the Stanford Clinical Data Science Fellowship, and Executive Director of the NIH Clinical Genome Resource (ClinGen), where oversight of a widely used FDA-recognized medical software platform is a key responsibility. Helio's extensive experience in medical diagnostics, product development, and mentorship spans roles as Principal Investigator of the Costa Lab, Attending Medical Geneticist, and various academic positions that contribute to advancements in biomedical data science and cancer research. Education includes a PhD in Genetics from Stanford University and a BS in Genetics from the University of California, Davis.
