Kuo Chen is a Senior Software Engineer at Motional since October 2020, previously working as a Software Engineer at Optimus Ride from April 2019 to October 2020. Before that, Kuo served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Rutgers University from September 2011 to March 2019, where contributions included developing a learning algorithm for underactuated balance robots using Gaussian process machine learning. An internship at Disney Research in 2017 involved learning quadruped robot models and optimizing walking gaits through trajectory optimization. Kuo Chen earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Rutgers University (2011-2018) after completing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Nankai University (2007-2011).
