Ben Elsworth is an experienced professional in the energy sector, currently serving as the Energy Project Development Lead at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero since November 2024. Prior to this role, Ben held consultancy positions at SPIN BOSON LIMITED and MGT Teesside, where responsibilities included leadership of the world's largest purpose-built biomass combined heat and power station. As Chief Executive Officer of MGT Power Ltd, Ben focused on large-scale biomass power and oversaw significant projects including the Tees Renewable Energy Plant. With a career spanning various roles in biomass procurement and trading, Ben co-founded Renewable Fuel Supply Limited and served as a manager at EDF Energy. Educational credentials include an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough University and a BSc Hons in Physics and Spanish from the University of Bristol.
