Marko Hjelt is an experienced HR professional with a diverse background in human resources and education. Currently serving as HR Manager at Metsä Board since August 2023, Marko previously held the position of Executive Vice President and CHRO at Raute Oyj from January 2013 to December 2022, where Marko was responsible for the global HR function and services. Earlier roles include Group HR Manager at Rinamet Oy / Go On Yhtiöt, overseeing significant units with P&L responsibility and substantial direct and outsourced staff, and Senior Consultant at Mercuri Urval. Marko began a career in education as a Special Education Teacher at Rinteen Koulu. Academic qualifications include a Master of Education in Special Education from Joensuun yliopisto and a specialized degree in Leadership from Koulutuskeskus Salpaus.
