Wilhelm von Schweinitz has a diverse range of work experience. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Fuel Oil Trading and Origination, EMEAA at Mercuria Energy Trading S.A. Wilhelm joined this company in August 2021. Prior to that, they worked at bp for many years. At bp, they were a Fuel Oil Trader from February 2012 to August 2021, and before that, they held the role of Ethanol & Gasoline Trader from February 2009 to January 2012. Before joining bp, they worked at Lexington Consulting as a Consultant from February 2002 to May 2005. And in their early career, they worked at bp again, as a Biofuels Trading Operator and Refinery Production Planner from June 2005 to December 2007.

Wilhelm von Schweinitz has a diverse education history. From 1999 to 2001, they attended The University of Bonn and obtained a Vordiplom degree in Economics. In 2000, they participated in an exchange semester at UCLA, focusing on Economics. Subsequently, from 2001 to 2004, they pursued a degree in Business Administration, specializing in Business Adminstration, at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Additionally, in 2002, they took part in an exchange semester at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, further expanding their knowledge of Business Administration.
