Klara Schmitz has a diverse range of work experience in the field of program management and development. Klara is currently the Head of Programmes at Media Trust, where they oversee the portfolio of programs and ensures the delivery of impactful programs for marginalized groups and young people. Prior to this, Klara worked as the Head of Programmes at Restless Development, where they provided oversight for a global portfolio of programs in multiple countries. Klara also held various positions within Restless Development, including Interim Head of Zambia and UK Youth Programmes Manager. Klara has experience in project management and consulting, having worked as a Project Manager for YOTA - Youth Opportunity & Transformation in Africa and as an International Development Consultant, where they worked on various youth campaigns and research projects. Additionally, they have experience in community development and leadership, having worked as a Team Leader for Lattitude Global Volunteering and as a Project Leader at The Arbour. Klara's career began as a Research and Policy Analyst at The Runnymede Trust, where they conducted research on race equality and migration integration. Klara also worked as a Project Assistant, supporting various research projects on race equality. Prior to their career in program management and research, Klara worked as an Administrator for Brighton & Hove City Council and as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Development Studies.
Klara Schmitz completed their Master of Arts degree in Migration Studies at the University of Sussex from 2008 to 2009. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology from The University of Manchester, where they studied from 2004 to 2007. In addition to their academic qualifications, Klara Schmitz obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Association for Project Management in September 2016.
