Pieterjan Dierickx is a Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research since May 2022, following a postdoctoral researcher position in the lab of Dr. Mitch Lazar at the Institute for Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism (UPenn) from September 2017 to May 2022, where research focused on the connections between the circadian clock, metabolism, and heart function. Prior to this, Pieterjan completed a PhD in Stem Cell Biology and Cardiac Regeneration at the Hubrecht Institute from January 2012 to March 2017. Educational background includes a Master's degree in Biomedical Biotechnology and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Ghent University, completed between 2006 and 2011.
