Michael Reed has extensive experience in software engineering and IT operations, currently serving in the IT + Operations role at Martha's Vineyard Museum since September 2023. Previously, Michael worked at Google from January 2017, focusing on Firebase Crashlytics and Google Cloud Platform, and served as a Senior Software Engineer at Twitter from June 2014 to January 2017, specializing in server-side development for mobile app tools. Prior to that, a significant tenure at VMware from 2007 to June 2014 involved working on Java server development for mobile BYOD solutions as well as data synchronization applications. Michael’s career began at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, developing R&D software for real-time systems from 1999 to 2007, and included a role as a VLSI Test Engineer at Digital Semiconductor/Intel from 1997 to 1999. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University and has pursued continuing education in Computer Science at Northeastern University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Harvard Extension School.
