Amanda Whalen is a seasoned media relations professional with extensive experience in journalism and broadcasting. Currently serving as Senior Manager of Media Relations at MaRS Discovery District since November 2018, Amanda has progressed through various roles within the organization. Prior experience includes positions as News Writer at Bell Media and Segment Producer at Business News Network (BNN), where responsibilities included generating story ideas and managing live segments. Earlier career experiences encompass a Press Gallery Summer Intern role at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and reporting positions at 94.9 CHRW and Fanshawe College. Amanda holds a Master of Arts in Journalism from Western University and a Bachelor of Arts in Media, Information, and Technoculture, along with additional education from Fanshawe College.
