Fungisai Musoni-Chikede

Assistant Professor of History & Director of African Diaspora Program at Marist College

Fungisai Musoni-Chikede, Ph.D., currently serves as an Assistant Professor of History and Director of the African Diaspora Program at Marist College, a position held since August 2022. Formerly, Musoni-Chikede was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Kalamazoo College from August 2021 to June 2022 and a Graduate Teaching Associate at The Ohio State University from August 2016 to May 2021. Prior experience includes a role as a Supplemental Instructor at Georgia State University from August 2013 to July 2016 and as a History Teacher for the Zimbabwe Ministry of Education and Culture between May 2004 and August 2007. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in African Studies from The Ohio State University, an MA in Political Science from Georgia State University, a MAT in History from Mercer University, and a BA in Economic History and Shona from the University of Zimbabwe. Research interests focus on the Cold War, philanthropic foundations and education, international development, and women's issues.
