Tim Patterson has a diverse work experience in software engineering and data-related roles. Tim currently works at Marigold as a Lead Software Engineer. Prior to this, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Marigold. Tim has also worked at Needles.io as a Big Data Architect/Engineer, where they provided data services to clients using cloud stacks such as AWS and Azure. Tim has experience with open source tools and technologies like Kafka, Hadoop/Spark, Airflow, and Jupyter. Before that, Tim worked at Powershop NZ Ltd as a Software Developer and at Qrious Limited as a Solutions/Bigdata Engineer. At Demonware, Tim held the role of Software Engineer - Data Warehouse (Big Data), where they focused on developing and evolving the tech stack for the data warehouse. Lastly, they started their career at Datacom as a Software Developer, where they worked on various projects involving Java, Swing, Oracle, Spring MVC, and WebSphere Process Server.

Tim Patterson attended the University of Otago from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a BAppSc degree with a focus on Telecommunications. Tim also obtained additional certifications including AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in June 2019, IBM Certified Integration Developer - WebSphere Process Server V7.0 from IBM in 2011, and SCJP 1.6 from Oracle in 2010.
