Sean Robertson's work experience includes various roles in different companies. In 2012, they worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at ChemGreen Innovation Inc. and TRIUMF. In 2014, they served as a Graduate Student Researcher (MSc) at Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris / Chimie-ParisTech. In 2015, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher (MSc) at MIT Mesoscale Nuclear Materials Group and later became a Senior Design Engineer at Transatomic Power. From 2018 to 2022, Sean worked as a Graduate Student Researcher (PhD) at MIT Mesoscale Nuclear Materials Group, where they contributed to various research projects related to molten salts and thermal conductivity. Starting in 2021, they became a Communication Lab Fellow at the MIT Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering. In 2022, Sean became Co-founder and CTO at Mantel, focusing on developing materials for carbon capture solutions.
Sean Robertson pursued their education chronologically, starting with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Honors Chemistry with a minor in Physics from Mount Allison University, which they completed from 2009 to 2013. Following this, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Nuclear Reactor Physics and Engineering from Université Paris-Saclay, studying from 2013 to 2015. Sean has recently completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, specializing in Nuclear Materials Science with a minor in Finance, which they undertook from 2018 to 2022.
