Gary Sweeney started their work experience in 2004 at Frank Brogan Ltd, where they held various posts until May 2012. In June 2012, they interned at Shell E&P Ireland for three months. In 2012, they also worked as a Performance Analyst for both the Wexford Womens Team and the Ireland Under 16 International Team until August 2013. From August 2013 to March 2016, they served as a Performance Analyst at Reading Football Club. Gary then joined Manchester United in March 2016 as a Recruitment Analyst.

Gary Sweeney's education history includes pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (Honours) in Sports Management & Coaching at the Institute of Technology, Carlow from 2012 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sport & Exercise (Soccer) at the same institution from 2009 to 2012.
