Tero Collin has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Tero began their career as an Auditor at KPMG from September 1993 to April 1995. Tero then joined Nokia in May 1995 and held various finance and managerial positions within the organization, including Finance Manager and Senior Finance Manager in different regions. Tero also served as Director of Finance, Strategy, and Planning, overseeing corporate-level projects and leading teams. In January 2012, they became the Director of Finance for Smart Devices at Nokia. In June 2014, they moved to Microsoft after the acquisition of Nokia's phone business, where they served as Director of Finance for Phone Marketing and later as Director of Corporate FP&A, responsible for financial planning and analysis for the corporation. From February 2019 to September 2023, Tero Collin worked as Head of M&A Finance and later as the Head of Finance for Business Development, Strategy, and Ventures at Microsoft. Currently, they are the Head of Fund Operations and Strategy at M12 - Microsoft's Venture Fund.
Tero Collin holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Tampere, which they completed from 1991 to 1994. Tero also pursued a program in General Management called "Building on Talent" at IMD in 1999. In terms of certifications, Tero has obtained various certifications from LinkedIn in blockchain development, cryptocurrencies, programming, and web development. Additionally, they have acquired certifications in venture capital and leadership training from VC University and Dare to Leadâ„¢ Trained, respectively.
