Brett Meyer

Sr. Director, Brand Marketing And Communications at Lygos

Brett Meyer has a strong background in brand marketing, with experience in both senior leadership roles and tactical execution. Brett currently holds the position of Sr. Director, Brand Marketing at Lygos, where they are responsible for overseeing brand marketing initiatives. Prior to this, Brett worked at Zymergen, Inc. as the Brand Marketing Director, leading the rebranding efforts of the company from ideation to execution. Brett also developed and implemented Zymergen's first-ever Brand Strategy and Brand Plan, and managed internal and external communications.

Before joining Zymergen, Brett spent several years at Nike, where they held various roles in brand management and marketing. As a Brand Manager for North America - Soccer, they played a key role in the Women's World Cup campaign, positioning the jersey as a symbol of female empowerment and achieving significant revenue growth. Brett also led the strategic planning and execution of the multi-million dollar "Get Out Here" campaign, which resulted in capturing baselayer market share from Under Armour during the holiday season.

In earlier roles at Nike, Brett led consumer insights research, launched new product innovations, and built strong relationships with key stakeholders such as local high schools, USC, and the Seattle Seahawks. Brett also worked as an EKIN, creating brand evangelists and engaging with high school athletes to promote Nike's history, heritage, and innovations.

Brett began their career at Nike as a sales associate at the Beaverton Employee Store, where they quickly earned a full-time role and became known for their product and brand knowledge. Brett also managed the decommissioning of the Nike Eugene Store.

Brett Meyer obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business from Willamette University, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Brett then pursued further education, completing a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and Master of Science in Leadership from Grand Canyon University between 2009 and 2011.
