Trey Simpson is a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in the field of bioengineering and business development. Currently serving as Principal Scientist and Business Development Manager for the Americas at LUMICKS since September 2018, Trey has progressed through various roles including US Business Development and Field Application Scientist Manager, Senior Application Scientist, and Application Scientist II. Prior experience includes a role as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Davis, where Trey developed a platform for assessing viscous drag forces on micrometer-sized particles using optical tweezers and microfluidics. Additional experience includes roles at Clemson University as a Supplemental Instructor for an engineering statics course, an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas, and a Summer Intern at Savannah River National Laboratory. Trey holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and a B.S. in Bioengineering with a focus on Biomaterials from Clemson University.
