Mathias von Essen has a diverse work history in various roles and industries. Mathias started their career in 2005 as a Customer Support Representative at Progeon before transitioning to the role of Project Manager. In 2007, they joined the Department of Automation Science and Engineering at Tampere University of Technology, where they worked as a Research Assistant and later as a Research Scientist. In 2018, Mathias worked as a Project Manager at Oxbotica until 2020. Mathias then joined Fibrobotics Oy as a Co-Founder and Board member in 2019. Currently, Mathias is working at Luffy AI, initially as a Research Software Engineer and then as an Operations Manager from October 2021.

Mathias von Essen obtained their M.Sc. degree in Automation from Tampere University of Technology from 2000 to 2009.
