Masahiko Maekawa graduated from the Faculty of Economics, Kyoto University. After working at domestic and foreign banks, securities companies, and asset management companies, he joined Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd. He has been instrumental in preparations for the listing of three Japan Post Group companies and measures to acquire sponsorship rights for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In 2017, he led the establishment of Japan Post Capital and assumed the position of managing director as head of the investment department. In 2020, he became a director of DG Ventures.
