Alex Floyd has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. They started their career as a Commercial Sales Engineer at Carrier Corporation from 2005 to 2007. They then worked as a Project Lead the Way Engineering Lead Teacher and Math Teacher at the Russellville School District from 2007 to 2011. Following that, they became an Engineering Instructor at Arkansas Tech University from 2008 to 2011, where they were responsible for teaching the curriculum in engineering graphics and utilizing software such as Solidworks.
In 2011, Alex joined CLEAResult as an Energy Engineer II, a role they held until 2015. After that, they joined Harrison Energy Partners as an Energy Program Manager and Client Services Program Manager from 2015 to 2018. Their responsibilities included developing partnering relationships, implementing energy conservation strategies, and introducing new technologies.
From 2018 to 2021, Alex worked at Tyson Foods as a Senior Manager Sustainability. In this role, they were responsible for establishing sustainability goals, reducing greenhouse gases, and fostering sustainable change across the organization.
Currently, Alex is the Head of Sustainability at Lopez Foods, Inc, a position they have held since 2021. No specific end date is provided for this role.
Alex Floyd holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Sustainable Engineering from Villanova University, which was obtained from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, between 2001 and 2005, Alex obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Arkansas Tech University. During the same period at Arkansas Tech University, Alex also acquired an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Nuclear Technology. In addition to these educational qualifications, Alex Floyd is certified as a Demand-Side Management Professional by The Association of Energy Engineers, obtained in December 2013, and as an Energy Manager, obtained in December 2012.
