John Simmerman has an extensive work history in financial roles. John most recently worked as a Chief Financial Officer at Logan Regional Medical Center from June 2022. Prior to that, they served as a CFO at Southampton Memorial Hospital from August 2015 to June 2022. Before that, they worked at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, where they held the positions of Director Patient Accounting and Financial Operations Manager from August 2013 to August 2015. Additionally, John served as a Facility CFO at UHS from November 2009 to June 2013. John began their career as a Staff Accountant at Stewart and Company from May 2008 to July 2009, and then worked as a Staff Accountant at David J. Hoare, CPA from October 2006 to February 2008.

John Simmerman earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Norfolk State University, where they studied from 1998 to 2003. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Accounting at Strayer University in Virginia from 2008 to 2009.
