Ashaki O. Charles is a strategic, collaborative, entrepreneurial, and accomplished fundraising executive. As Senior Consultant, she brings two decades of experience successfully leading development teams, including principal, major and leadership annual gifts, volunteer engagement, special events, development operations, stewardship, and prospect research, with budget oversight and furthering the missions of organizations through an emphasis on relationships and results.
Throughout her career, she has partnered with board members, CEOs, high-level civic, cultural, government, and corporate leaders, securing six, seven and eight figure gifts in comprehensive campaigns up to $4.5B at Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania, Villanova University, and Rutgers University. Earlier in her career, she held editorial, sales, and marketing positions at McGraw-Hill Higher Education and Pearson Education improving market results and leading award winning innovative marketing and sales campaigns.
Ashaki received her Ed.M. in Higher Education Management at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education and her undergraduate degrees in Communication and English at the State University of New York at Geneseo. A dedicated alumna, Ashaki led fundraising and engagement initiatives on the Education Alumni Association Executive Board at the University of Pennsylvania for five years. She is a member of the African American Development Officers Network, and an inaugural committee member for CASE’s Diverse Philanthropy and Leadership Conference.
