Michael Liu has a diverse work experience in the field of infrastructure engineering and DevOps. Michael is currently working at Ledger Investing as a Staff Infrastructure Engineer since January 2023. Previously, they founded SFBay DevOps Consulting in 2017. Michael also worked at Clockwise as an Infrastructure Engineer from December 2020 to December 2022. Michael contributed to Bolt's migration from a VM-based infrastructure to Kubernetes as an Infrastructure Engineer from November 2017 to December 2020. Before that, Michael served as the Director of Infrastructure at RealtyShares, where they built and managed their Amazon Web Services infrastructure. Michael worked as a DevOps Advisor at Orzo from August 2015 to August 2016. Prior to that, Michael served as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Stitch Labs, Inc. and was responsible for managing their public cloud infrastructure and executing data center migrations. Michael played a key role in growing the Site Reliability team at Marin Software as a DevOps Engineer / Lead Site Reliability Engineer from July 2009 to July 2014. In this role, they managed a team of six engineers and provided 24/7 coverage to customers across three geographical regions. Michael also worked as a Database Administrator at E*TRADE Financial, where they managed and maintained MySQL databases. Michael began their career as a Workstation Consultant at Purdue University, providing technical support and implementing software solutions for staff and faculty.

Michael Liu attended Purdue University from 2002 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications. During their time at Purdue University, they also studied Computer Information Technology and Network Engineering Technology at the College of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
