ABOUT THE ROLE

LEAP is looking for an attorney with current family law experience who is looking for a career change in the legal tech space to join our mission to improve the family law process around the world.

In this role, you will use your experience to advise a dedicated development team on how to build best-in-class software for improving the productivity of family lawyers.  

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Providing recommendations on new features and applications to improve the practice of family law
  • Writing reports for the development of new product, such as child support calculators and parenting time calendar
  • Visiting law firms to gather product feedback
  • Preparing training materials to help users get the most out of LEAP
  • Contributing to family law thought leadership, including conducting CLEs
  • Drafting documents to be added to LEAP’s library of automated templates

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Essential qualities:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school
  • 3+ years recent experience in divorce, custody, support and other family law issues, ideally in New Jersey
  • Expertise in the financial implications of divorce, including taxation
  • A demonstrable drive and enthusiasm for technology
  • A passion for delivering positive change and helping our clients improve their family law businesses, which in turn helps people navigating through the family law process
  • Experience expressing complex legal concepts to lay people
  • Willingness to visit and speak with law firms

Nice to have qualities:

  • Prior experience using LEAP or other legal software
  • Programming experience
