Saretta Herman has a diverse work experience in the field of mental health and counseling. Saretta started their career as a Social Work Counselor at Immortelle Children's School and Immortelle Prevocational Centre in 2010. Saretta then worked as a Social Work Assistant at St. Mary's Children's Home before becoming a Student Clinician at The George Hull Centre for Children and Families in 2010. In 2011, they served as a Parenting Group Co-Facilitator at Delvio Child Parent Clinic and later joined Turning Point Youth Services as a Clinician in the Toronto Mental Health Collaborative from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, Saretta worked as a Counsellor in Student Affairs at George Brown College and as a Health and Wellness Counsellor and Coordinator at the University of Toronto until 2019. Saretta'snext position was as a Psychotherapist at a Private Practice in 2018. Currently, they hold the positions of Cofounder and Clinical Director at Layla since January 2020 and previously served as a Clinical Consultant at the same company from June to December 2019. Overall, Saretta Herman has demonstrated a commitment to providing counseling and mental health support in various settings throughout their career.

Saretta Herman pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Anthropology from Pomona College. This degree was obtained between the years 2004 and 2009. Following this, they continued their academic journey at the University of Toronto, earning a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a focus on Children and Families. This degree was obtained between the years 2009 and 2011.
