Valerie Tidwell is a skilled freelance proofreader currently employed at Lautman Maska Neill & Company since December 2012, with prior experience in various roles involving editing and communications. Valerie has served as an assistant kindergarten teacher at Rabat American School and completed internships at Casey Trees and NARAL Pro-Choice Maryland. In addition to proofreading e-book files for Simon and Schuster, Valerie worked as a copy editor for the Italian Department of Defense, refining difficult translations. Previous positions include contributing writer and editor at LiveABC, public affairs intern at Planned Parenthood, and copy editor at Daily Nexus. Valerie holds a BA in Communication with a focus on professional editing from UC Santa Barbara and attended Chinese Culture University.
