L'Arche Erie provides a wonderful opportunity to share life with adults with intellectual disabilities. We attend to daily living responsibilities and personal care/needs of the core members (residents) in a home setting. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Remain awake during scheduled hours
- Being present and attending to the needs of the individuals welcomed, quickly learning their supports needs
- Carry out the directives of the Program Specialist regarding the management of the home, daily living skills,administration of meds, etc.
- Adhere to PA State Regulations as established in the 6400 Regs.
- Implement ISP’s and other areas of documentation
- Housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation
- Documentation of daily records, filing, receiving and checking in of medications
- Transport individuals when needed
- Participate in the functions and life of the community
- Adhere to the values and philosophy of L’Arche as stated in our Charter
- Be a strong and supporting team member to the home
- Able to work independently
- Complete all required trainings in a timely manner
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Clearances (Act 34 and FBI if out of state)
- Good writing and communication skills
- Adhere to the mission and values of L’Arche
- Ability to fulfill a flexible schedule, including weekends
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
Schedule and placement in the home may fluctuate. Schedules are created to meet the needs of the home.
