Lucy Hepburn has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Lucy began their career as a Research Assistant at Pharmagene, where they gained experience in establishing cell-based assays and conducting in vitro assays for target validation and anti-inflammatory profiling. Lucy also participated in metabolic studies and developed skills in report writing and data presentation. Lucy then worked as an Intercalated Year Studentship at Novartis Forschunginstitut, where they focused on the role of a chemokine/receptor pair in inflammatory diseases. During this time, they gained skills in laboratory techniques, immunological assays, teamwork, and resource management. After completing their studies, Lucy worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The Babraham Institute, where they explored the role of the pre-B receptor in autoimmunity. Lucy conducted research in B cell immunology and used techniques such as ELISAs and confocal imaging for the detection of auto-reactive antibodies. Lucy then joined Huntingdon Life Sciences as a Senior Study Manager, responsible for managing studies. Following this, Lucy worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Cambridge Institute of Medical Research, where they focused on their research in immunology. Lucy then joined MedImmune as a Scientist, where they worked for one year before moving on to Kymab Ltd. At Kymab Ltd, Lucy initially worked as a Research Scientist II before being promoted to their current position as Senior Research Scientist I.
Lucy Hepburn completed their education history with a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Cambridge, which they pursued from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they obtained a BSc in Biochemistry with an Intercalated Year from the University of Warwick, where they studied from 1997 to 2001.
