Derek Valentyne has a strong background in business development and sales within the pharmaceutical industry. Derek started their career at Trent Drugs in 2000 as an Account Manager, and worked there until 2006. Derek then moved to Pharmascience where they continued their Account Manager role until 2008. Derek then joined AmerisourceBergen Canada as a Retail Sales Director, a position they held for five years. In 2013, they became the Director of Business Development-Ontario at Kohl & Frisch Limited, where they continue to work.

Derek Valentyne attended the Toronto School of Business from 1992 to 1993, where they focused on Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications. Prior to that, Derek had also attended NDSS, although the specific years and details of their studies at this institution are unavailable.
