MariAnn Bresnahan has extensive work experience in various roles related to accounting, tax, and project management. MariAnn currently serves as the Associate Director of Clinical Accounting at Kodiak Sciences, a position they have held since March 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Consultant at Kaiser Consulting from October 2019 to March 2020.

From 2011 to 2019, MariAnn worked as an Independent Consultant, specializing in tax reporting and compliance, IT project management, and Sarbanes-Oxley controls. MariAnn used their expertise to implement process improvements that reduced processing time, enhanced internal controls, and resulted in cost savings and risk reduction.

In their earlier career, MariAnn served as the Controller at venBio Partners from 2013 to 2015. MariAnn also worked at Barclays Capital as the Director of Tax Technology from 2010 to 2011, where they designed and developed a database to streamline tax reporting processes and managed the transition of an outsourced compliance program.

MariAnn's experience at Pfizer Inc from 2001 to 2009 involved implementing process improvements and tax technology to automate data collection and analysis for reporting and compliance purposes. MariAnn successfully represented the Tax Department during IT Sarbanes-Oxley audits.

Before joining Pfizer, MariAnn worked at KPMG as a Supervising Senior Tax Specialist in the State and Local Tax Practice from 2000 to 2001. In this role, they conducted audits, negotiated compliance agreements, and implemented tax applications for corporate clients.

MariAnn's earlier roles include serving as a Supervising Tax Accountant at the California Board of Equalization from 1992 to 2000 and as a Supervising Tax Auditor at the Board of Equalization and the State of California during the same period.

MariAnn Bresnahan completed their high school education at Milpitas High School from 1983 to 1987. MariAnn then went on to San Jose State University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. MariAnn studied at San Jose State University from 1987 to 1992 and successfully obtained their degree. In addition to their formal education, MariAnn Bresnahan has obtained various certifications including Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in February 2019 and Certified Public Accountant from the Accountancy Board Of Ohio in March 2014.
