Maya Asarpota is an experienced communications professional currently serving as Engagement Manager at the Knowledge & Human Development Authority since August 2023, following a long tenure as Senior Communications Specialist at the same organization from May 2006 to August 2023. Previously, Maya was the Editor and Owner of Challenge Magazine, which focused on issues related to people of determination, special educational needs, and disabilities, from April 2004 to May 2006. Earlier career experience includes working as a Freelance Journalist for Gulf News from 1999 to 2004 and as a Personal Assistant at Oman Abrasives from 1991 to 1994. Academic qualifications include a Master's Degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Madras.
