FRED Opel is a seasoned professional in health research and clinical care, currently serving as Project Coordinator at Virutubisho Trials - KEMRI Welcome Trust since January 2023. With extensive experience at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) since September 2013 in various roles including Assistant Study Coordinator and Deputy ART Coordinator, FRED has demonstrated expertise in study implementation, participant recruitment, safety monitoring, and staff training. Previous positions include Clinical Research Program Officer and HIV Care and Treatment Clinician with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), focusing on high-quality HIV treatment services and management of complex cases. FRED holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, obtained in May 2018.
