Senior Data Engineer at JumpCloud

Brian Lobo has a diverse work experience spanning from 2012 to the present. Brian is currently employed as a Data Engineer at JumpCloud, where they are responsible for building and maintaining cloud data platforms and pipelines in AWS. Brian specializes in setting up stream-based CDC data platforms and relieving workloads from source databases. Brian also handles pipeline provisioning, monitoring throughput, and infrastructure maintenance.

Before joining JumpCloud, Brian worked at Duke Energy Corporation as a Senior Data Engineer. Brian also worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Fidelity Investments, enhancing predictive models using Big Data and developing database scoring models. Brian gained public speaking and presentation skills as a Technical Sales Engineering Intern at Cisco, where they conducted research and provided insight on products and solutions.

Additionally, Brian worked as a Student Caller at Ruffalo Noel Levitz, where they raised funds for the university and refined their communication skills. Brian also gained experience as a Summer Intern at Bayer CropScience, working in the lab and greenhouse to splice genes and grow genetically modified plants.

Brian obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Data Science & Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating in 2023. Prior to that, Brian completed their undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2013 to 2017. Brian earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics, and also pursued a minor in Statistics.

In addition to their formal education, Brian has obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills. In December 2021, they obtained the JumpCloud Core Certification from JumpCloud. In December 2020, they completed the MicroMasters in Analytics: Essential Tools & Methods program offered by the Georgia Institute of Technology. Furthermore, in April 2018, Brian became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate through Amazon Web Services.
