Rob Barkman has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Rob started their career as a Lean Sigma Black Belt at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in 2002. After that, they worked as a Senior Consultant at Exervio Management Consulting in 2006. In the same year, they also became the President/Owner of Barkman & Carter Group, Inc, a role they held until 2009. Rob then joined Nouveon Technology, Inc as a Consultant from 2009 to 2010 and later worked as a Management Consultant at The North Highland Company from 2011 to 2012. In 2013, they became the Managing Partner at RL Consulting Group Inc.

In 2018, Rob Barkman joined ProductHQ as a Product Manager, where they were responsible for the product management life cycle and utilizing various tools for product planning and roadmap development. Rob held this role until 2021. Currently, they are working as a Business Development Executive at JOLT ENERGY GROUP. Additionally, since 2019, they have been serving as Treasurer and handling sponsorships for ProductCamp CLT, a product management planning event.

Rob Barkman holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the William & Mary - Raymond A. Mason School of Business. Prior to this, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Rob completed their secondary education at Oak Ridge High School.
