Nathan Hillson is an established leader in synthetic biology and informatics, currently serving as the Director of Synthetic Biology Informatics at the Joint BioEnergy Institute and holding multiple roles including Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at TeselaGen Biotechnology, Principal Investigator at Agile BioFoundry, and Group Lead for Synthetic Biology Informatics at the Joint Genome Institute. Nathan's extensive experience at Berkeley Lab encompasses positions as Department Head of Biodesign and Computational Senior Staff Scientist, along with roles as Interim Co-Deputy Division Director and Affiliate Investigator at EBRC and SynBERC. Nathan's academic background includes a PhD in BioPhysics from Harvard Medical School and a B.A. in Physics/CAAM from Rice University, complemented by a postdoctoral fellowship in Developmental Biology at Stanford University.
