Kailash Patil

Sr. Design Battery Engineer/Scientist at BrightVolt

Kailash Patil has worked in various roles in the energy and materials science field since 2002. Kailash began as a Project Trainee at the National Chemical Laboratory, followed by a Researcher role at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology. In 2004, they became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Connecticut, where they conducted R&D in Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells and Solid Oxide Fuel Cells. Kailash then moved on to a R&D Scientist/Engineer role at Brilliant Light Power, Inc. in 2013, followed by a R&D Scientist/Consulting role at Bio2Electric, LLC in 2014. In 2017, they became a Materials Scientist at Giner, Inc., where they were responsible for multiple projects related to the development of electrode-separator materials for high-temperature electrochemical conversion and storage systems. In 2020, Kailash Patil moved on to Xerion Advanced Battery Corp., where they developed high-energy-density/high-performance electrode materials for next-generation Li-ion batteries and developed and processed advanced/innovative manufacturing of low-cost electrode materials using molten salt chemistry. Currently, they hold a Sr. Design Battery Engineer/Scientist role at BrightVolt.

Kailash Patil obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Energy and Power Conversion Engineering from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology between 2004 and 2010.
