Dean Thackray is a seasoned professional in database design and development with extensive experience in ETL processes and cloud technologies. Currently serving as a Senior EDW & BI Developer at Jisc since January 2022, Dean specializes in database and ETL development for the Enterprise Data Warehouse, utilizing tools like PostgreSQL, Redshift, and Pentaho, as well as AWS services. Prior to this, Dean held the position of Senior Database Engineer at Blinx Solutions, focusing on cloud-based business intelligence and ERP applications, and spent over two decades at GBG Plc in various roles, including Database Administrator and Senior Database Developer, where expertise in Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB was honed. Dean's career began with an IT Support Specialist role at EDF Energy. Dean earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Bradford in 1996.
