Leon C. Adelman, MD, MBA, FACEP, FAAEM has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities. Leon C. is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Ivy Clinicians, a platform that connects physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants with job opportunities. Dr. Adelman's vision for Ivy Clinicians is to become the leading clinician job market network in the $18 billion US healthcare staffing market.

In addition to their entrepreneurial ventures, Dr. Adelman has held positions in the emergency medicine field. Leon C. worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Harnett Health in 2022 and served as the Medical Director and Emergency Physician at Johnston Health - UNC Emergency Departments, where they led community EDs with a combined patient visits of approximately 80,000 per year. During their tenure, they successfully improved sepsis outcomes and implemented initiatives that significantly increased safe ED discharges.

Dr. Adelman also has extensive experience in medical leadership and advocacy. Notably, they served as a Board Member for the North Carolina College of Emergency Physicians (NCCEP) and as the Secretary-Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Virginia College of Emergency Physicians. Leon C. was the Fellowship Founder and Director for the Virginia College of Emergency Physicians' Leadership & Advocacy Fellowship. Leon C. also represented the Virginia College of Emergency Physicians on the Virginia Department of Health Emergency Department Care Coordination Advisory Council.

Prior to their current roles, Dr. Adelman held positions at US Acute Care Solutions as the Medical Director and Emergency Physician, where they received the VEP New Medical Director of the Year award. Leon C. served as the Director of Clinical Operations at Inova Alexandria Hospital Emergency Department, where they coordinated quality and CMS core measure initiatives and led patient flow initiatives. Leon C. was also actively involved in committees and councils related to emergency medicine, critical care, stroke, and patient experience.

Dr. Adelman completed a Leadership and Advocacy Fellowship with the Massachusetts College of Emergency Physicians and served as the Director of Clinical Innovation and Attending Emergency Physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital - Milton.

Throughout their career, Dr. Adelman has demonstrated a commitment to improving patient care, advocating for the field of emergency medicine, and taking on leadership roles in healthcare organizations.

Leon C. Adelman, MD, MBA, FACEP, FAAEM has an impressive educational background. Leon C. completed their high school education at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics in 1998, where they obtained their High School Diploma with a focus on Social Studies.

Dr. Adelman continued their education at Brown University from 1998 to 2002, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies. Subsequently, they attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained their MD degree in Medicine.

To further their expertise in emergency medicine, Dr. Adelman pursued the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from 2008 to 2011. This intensive training program allowed him to specialize in Emergency Medicine.

Driven by their passion for healthcare management and administration, Dr. Adelman pursued an additional degree in this field. Leon C. earned a Physician Executive MBA at the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee in 2016 and 2017, specializing in Health/Health Care Administration/Management.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. Adelman has also sought various certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. Leon C. became a Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine in May 2018, and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians in July 2014. Leon C. achieved the Lean Six Sigma: Yellow Belt Certification from Juran Global in December 2014. Moreover, they obtained their Emergency Medicine Certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in December 2022.

Dr. Adelman's commitment to lifelong learning is evident in their participation in additional training programs. Leon C. completed the Emergency Department Directors Academy at the American College of Emergency Physicians in 2013 and 2014. Leon C. also completed the AMIA ACEP 10x10 program, Introduction to Biomedical Informatics, at Oregon Health & Science University in 2020.

Outside of their formal education, Dr. Adelman has engaged in executive education programs and training. Leon C. completed the MIT Sloan School of Management Executive Education program on MIT Sloan Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy in 2018. Leon C. also participated in the Harvard Business School Executive Education program on Value-Based Healthcare Delivery Intensive Seminar, instructed by Michael Porter and Elizabeth Teisberg. Furthermore, they completed Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Training at the Christiana Care Health System Value Institute. Additionally, they obtained training from the Intermountain Healthcare Institute for Healthcare Delivery Research in their miniAdvanced Training Program.
