John Ybarra started their work experience in 1996 as an Artist at Cognitive Arts and remained in this role until 1999. From 1999 to 2001, they worked as an Artist at Meyer/ Glass Design. Then, they joined Day1 Studios in 2001 as an Environment Artist and stayed there until 2011. In 2012, they started working at Babaroga as an Environment Artist and stayed there until 2017. Currently, they are working at Incredible Technologies as an Artist from November 2017 onwards.

John Ybarra attended the American Academy of Art from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Fine and Studio Arts.
