Leire Zubizarreta has substantial experience in the field of materials for energy applications, currently serving as Responsable Línea Materiales para Baterías at Instituto Tecnológico de la Energía since July 2009. Responsibilities include strategizing and managing research initiatives related to lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and solid-state batteries, as well as coordinating human resources and leading various regional, national, and European projects. Previously, Leire Zubizarreta held roles as a visitor researcher at Uppsala University and the Université de Liège, focusing on the development of polymer electrolytes and catalysts for hydrogen storage. Educational credentials include a PhD from Universidad de Oviedo and a Chemistry Degree from Universidad del Pais Vasco.
