Didier Rigal

Director Business Development & Technology at IRT Saint Exupéry

Didier Rigal is the current Director of Business Development and Platforms at IRT Saint Exupéry. Didier has held this position for 11 months. Prior to this, they were the Director of Products and Technology for Thales Alenia Space, where they managed product policy on platforms, payloads, and ground solutions for the Earth Observation and Science domains. Didier also served as the GEO Information Director for TELESPAZIO FRANCE, where they developed the EarthLab innovation, a network of clusters to monitor local environment conditions with space and aerospace sensors and Geoinformation models and analytics. Rigal has also worked as a Senior Manager for Corporate Development and Strategy for ASTRIUM Services Geoinformation (Airbus group), where they were responsible for corporate strategy and positioning on Kyoto, as well as participating in COP as a French delegation expert. Didier has also worked as a Program Director for Business Unit Farmstar for INFOTERRA (ASTRIUM Services Company) and as a Sales Director for SPOT IMAGE (ASTRIUM Company). Didier Rigal began their career as a Project Officer and Production Manager for GEOSYS before serving a two-year period in Niger as a French Aid officer for AGRHYMET (Niamey).

Didier Rigal has a Master from ESC Toulouse Business School in Sustainable Development & Climate Change from 2010-2011. Didier wrote their professional thesis on: Satellite based services for mitigation and adaptation to climate change - analysis of opportunities. Didier also has a Diplôme Ingénieur des grandes écoles from EIP Ecole Ingénieur de Purpan in Agronomy and Environmental Science, Biophysics & Remote Sensing from 1983-1987.
