Emma Urben is currently a Strategic Analyst at iProtean. Prior to their current role, Emma was an Associate Intern at Veralon from July 2020 to May 2021. In this role, Emma was responsible for providing support to the consulting team by conducting research, preparing presentations, and participating in client calls.

Before their time at Veralon, Emma was a Research Assistant at Penn State University from February 2019 to October 2020. In this role, Emma conducted research on the efficacy of a smartphone medication reminder application intervention on patients seen for upper-respiratory illnesses. Emma also coded patient transcripts, charts, and responses to analyze data about patient experience and provider-patient interaction.

Emma began their career as an intern at UPMC in July 2018, where they interned under the Vice President of Operations at UPMC’s Altoona and Bedford Memorial hospitals. During their time at UPMC, Emma attended meetings across multiple disciplines including patient safety, risk analysis, radiology, cardiology, executive management groups, and pulmonology. Emma also assisted in planning UPMC Altoona’s five-year anniversary employee luncheon and gathered data from hospital-wide employee survey and used Excel to organize, analyze, and summarize the data into a presentation for department leadership.

Emma Urben received their Master's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Penn State University. Emma also holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Policy and Administration from Penn State University. Emma also has a Diploma from Beaver Area High School. Emma is certified in Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification from the Management & Strategy Institute.
